Attorney Questions and Answers
Q: What inspired you to specialize in divorce and family law after your experience with the First District Court of Appeals?
A: Working at the First District Court of Appeals was incredibly insightful and important for my career development. After working at the Court, I was an associate at a large, international law firm and then was a partner at another large firm. I enjoyed working at these very large firms doing litigation work for corporations and was trained by several outstanding lawyers who are absolute leaders in their fields. However, since opening The Larson Law Office, I felt a deeper connection with family law and helping people navigate some of the most challenging times in their lives. It is rewarding to use my legal skills to bring peace and order during these emotional moments.
Q: How does your background in estate planning and business law enhance your approach to family law cases?
A: My estate planning and business law experience compliments my family law practice in several ways. We frequently represent small business owners and owners of closely held family businesses in family law cases, so there overlap in business and family law in those cases. We also frequently assist our family law clients with estate planning at the end of their family law case.
Q: With your extensive admission to practice in various courts, including the United States Supreme Court, how does this breadth of experience benefit your clients in family law matters?
A: My admissions to practice in various courts, including the United States Supreme Court, offer a significant advantage to my clients in family law matters. This broad range of experience means I’m well-versed in diverse legal environments and can adeptly navigate complex legal systems. Practicing in federal court requires diligence, attention to detail and a high degree of sophistication, and particularly so in the federal appellate courts. I believe that our clients in state court/family court benefit from my experience practicing in federal court.
